Abstract | In this talk, we will discuss some fundamental connections
between knot theory and homotopy groups. The general homotopy groups of
spheres can be expressed as certain canonical sub-quotients of link
groups. Also a canonical simplicial resolution of a knot group can
provide a combinatorial model for the loop space of 3-spheres. These
connections seem to address some new questions in knot theory. The talk
will aim to general audience. |
